About the Star Inn

The Star Inn is situated in an idyllic village location on the Oxfordshire border. The 300 year old Star Inn offers a warm welcome with fine ales, home cooked food and well appointed bedrooms.

On a visit to Sulgrave in 1889 the honourable William Taft, Chief Justice of America said, "Sulgrave is a charming little spot only hidden in the loveliness of its seclusion, with the old Star Inn by the roadside a relic of bygone days when comforts were plain and ale was plenty" The Star Inn in Northamptonshire is the nearest pub to Sulgrave Manor, the ancestral home of the first president of the United States, George Washington. It is also the only English pub known to have been used by the legendary actor John Wayne. Then as now The Star Inn is still welcoming visitors.
