About The Volunteer Inn Wantage
David and Sandra Bosanquet are the new landlord and lady at The Volunteer, Grove near Wantage. David's ambition is to keep the pub going as well as it has in the past but he will be serving food - something which has not been available at the pub for many years.
Food will be available all day with lunches from Noon and then snacks in the afternoon and of course evening meals David will be in the kitchen and the menu will be launched at their RELAUNCH NIGHT on October 24th.
There will also be a free buffet and live music on the 24th so why not go along and welcome David and Sandra. It is their hope to be able to welcome all friends of theirs and the pubs, old and new. The pub has Darts, Pool and Aunt Sally teams and David is excited to carry on supporting all of these.
A local pigeon club also regularly meet in the pub's car park to release their birds in the hope they will return. After which, what better way to wish the pigeons well than to raise a good pint of Hooky - something which David and Sandra hope will continue.
The Volunteer Inn is an ideal location for a drink after work, being open all afternoon, it wouldn't matter what your working hours are! This roadside pub is just on the edge of Grove, on the busy A338. It has a large car park and inside, a large open plan bar.
Being so close to the AT & T Williams Formula 1 base David and Sandra have started to decorate the pub with tributes to various cars and drivers. They will also be launching their very own House Bitter - "F1 Ale" on October 24th. David hopes to have live music on a regular basis and there is also a big screen television on which sports fans can be assured Football and other sports will be shown.
David and Sandra are both very excited about welcoming customers old and new to this local, friendly pub.
