About The Pear Tree Inn
Ian Miller is the tenant at the Pear Tree, Hook Norton, Oxfordshire.
The pretty 18th century pub, which also serves as the Brewery's tap, is ideally located for use by the many walkers who pass by or visitors to the Hook Norton Brewery Visitor Centre.
The Pear Tree has a single, beamed bar with welcoming log fire and offers hand made walking sticks for sale. The Pear Tree is open all day and has the full range of Hook Norton beers.
The pub has three bed and breakfast rooms, which are much in demand during the summer months.
The food is best described as good pub food. "There is nothing pretentious on the menu, it is just good pub food, with many of the ingredients sourced locally", said Mr Miller.
Hook Norton beer is in the pub's bread. Local baker Bread & Co is supplying the Pear Tree with its Barleycorn loaf, which is baked every day using Hook Norton Bitter.
The pub is famed for its annual beer festival which is held every July.
An Airdale dog called Rigsby lives in the pub, a former winner at Crufts, he was found abandoned by Mr Miller who decided to give him a home.
